Social media changes rules of advertising and marketing. However, basic rules of branding will never change, no matter what. Let’s take a look at how social media and branding complement each other.
Rule No. 1: Relationships generate revenue. The more people know you, the higher the chance that they will buy from you. Use social media and introduce yourself to potential customers. Participate in forums; post useful information in your blog. People are always looking for solutions to their problems and if you can give them the answer they are looking for, they spread the word about you. Rule No. 2: It’s not what you say, but how you say it. Your business website offers general and official information. Social media such as twitter, blogs or forums offer the possibility of connecting with you, a real person behind the organization. This is the best way to build trust. Customers buy from people who they trust.
Rule No. 3: Repetition is important. Through repetition you establish credibility & brand familiarity. Studies show that most consumers visit a website four or five times before they buy. By adding new posts, presentation, videos or even your twitter stream, you give visitors a reason to come back.
Keep in mind: social media has incredible power to influence the brand and help you to achieve your business goals.
